Up for sale is a exceptionally rare piece of vintage soda history: an original vulcanized rubber/composition heavy-duty Coca-Cola transport delivery route crate manufactured by The Richardson Company.Unlike the common wooden or bright red plastic varieties, these black rubber models were custom-developed in the late 1950s to reduce noise and cushion fragile glass bottles during transport on delivery routes.• Dimensions: Standard delivery footprint measures exactly 18.5" L x 12" W x 4.25" H.• Design Features: Built with 4 deep storage compartments meant to snuggly fit 6-pack glass carriers. The floor features raised chevron/“Y”-shaped traction grids for stabilization alongside built-in handle grabs and integrated bottom drainage holes.• Condition: Authentic vintage condition with beautiful industrial character.
