The original RR sale certificate is included and identifies this specific artifact. The certificate describes the button as an example of a Continental Army soldier’s uniform button from the American Revolution.
The button remains in the same overall condition shown in the RR sale documentation, with age-related oxidation, surface wear and corrosion consistent with the certificate description. I have not cleaned, polished or altered the button.
The shank remains intact and is clearly shown in the photographs. The button measures approximately 23 mm in diameter, consistent with the RR sale description.
