Original vintage Spanish Nationalist military aviation breast badge, dating to approximately 1938–1939 during the Spanish Civil War.
The badge features outstretched wings surrounding a red central medallion bearing the black Eagle of St. John, surmounted by an open crown. This emblem was associated with the Nationalist aviation forces during the Franco/Spanish Civil War period.
This appears to be a general aviation/air force badge rather than a specific pilot qualification wing.
The badge is metal construction with remnants of its original finish and enamel/paint.
Condition: This is an original vintage piece showing considerable age and use. There is finish loss, oxidation/patina, discoloration and substantial wear/loss to the red and black central emblem. The reverse shows verdigris/oxidation. The original attachment hardware is incomplete/missing, with remnants visible on the reverse. It has not been cleaned or polished. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
This came from an old collection of military insignia containing pieces from several different periods and countries. No individual serviceman provenance is being claimed.
An interesting and relatively uncommon piece of Spanish Civil War Nationalist aviation militaria.
Sold exactly as pictured.
