These two original studio stamped photos are a historically significant pair oforiginal, vintage black-and-white photographs documenting the catastrophicaftermath of World War II in Cologne (Köln), Germany. These powerful imageswere captured by the renowned German documentary and \"rubblephotographer\" (Trümmerfotograf) Walter Dick immediately following thewar\'s conclusion in 1945.

Each print measures approximately 7\" x 5\"(Standard vintage press/documentary size). The first photos are a high resolution scan but found that a photo would show greater detail and crispness so I have included a photographs of the photographs as well.

In German photographic history, Walter Dick(1914–1976) is grouped alongside legendary avant-garde and documentaryfigures like August Sander and Hermann Claasen. He is canonized as oneof the definitive visual chroniclers of Germany\'s \"Trümmerjahre\" (theimmediate post-WWII years spent living in the ruins) and the subsequenteconomic miracle (Wirtschaftswunder).
