The medallions are seen here and there detached and incomplete chain work even less common. Complete in tact survivors like this are a real find for the most serious collectors, specifically highway/transportation buffs & national park historians. The below description is a copy & paste that sums up the significance & rarity as they were produced for less than one year.
Slogan: The text "WE WANT IN" arches over an engraving of an early automobile driving through the iconic Roosevelt Arch (the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park).
• The Backstory: In the early 1910s, automobiles were strictly banned inside Yellowstone National Park out of concern they would scare the horses used in stagecoaches. The Yellowstone Trail Association used the slogan "We Want In" on promotional materials and watch fobs starting in 1914 to lobby the federal government to open the park to motorized vehicles.
• The Outcome: The campaign worked perfectly. The Department of the Interior officially authorized automobiles to enter the park the following year, on August 1, 1915.
