This is one of my fave steins! It’s just really sweet and honestly beautifully painted. The detail and the gold border around the portrait is really pretty in real life (the camera doesn’t capture its reflectiveness and texture).The pastel colors are also gorgeous (IMO) and then the second portrait on the lid (chef’s kiss!)The sweetest part of the Lithophane on the bottom. It appears to be a monk placing a cross necklace on a woman. This lovely doesn’t have a name, but if I had to guess Greta seems plausible?Her lid is fully functional but is loose at the hinge part. She also has some normal wear; but she is said to have been from 1890-1910, so it is expected age. Lastly, she does have markings on her pewter lid to confirm timeframe and lid manufacturer/location.She is on the pricier side, but she is my favorite and is a slice of history that makes you wonder…. What was Greta like back then and did she ever use this stein to throw one back after a long day at the church? Let her beauty keep you company!
