ExceptionalCOLUMBIA PLATEAUarrowpoint that measures 1 1/8" long by 5/8" wide. Columbia Plateau points are from the Classic to Historicperiods in the Far West dating in the 500 to 200 BP range. These were used for hunting medium to small game with the bow and arrow and for warfare. The sharp, deep barbs were deadly when hitting their targets. Material is a heat-treated local chert.Found on theLower John Day River, in Sherman County, Oregon. This is a very fine, unsharpened probably original as made point. Great form, base, and barbs. This point was from the collection ofJeb Taylor. Mr. Taylor is a well-known, very knowledgeable collector who was from Buffalo, Wyoming. It was acquired byScott Swanger of Shelby, Ohio in the mid 1990's who papered it with Greg Perino. He later consigned part of his collection (with this point) to John Byrd of Piedmont, SC. I bought it from Mr. Byrd in 1999, and it has been in my collection since. It is a fine100% Authentic example of a quality point, and it will come with Greg's COA and my artifact sheet.Buy only real, authentic artifacts!
