Though it's not pretty and it looks like some critters have eaten the corners of some of the pages of the book, all the contents are intact and readable and the pictures are incredible! There is a 24"x24" map included and when I took it out of the envelope to take a picture of it, it unfolded like it had been seen for the very first time. The map is totally pristine and vivid showing the Mount Rainier National Park, in all its glory as it was in 1927 when the map and the guidebook was published. Interestingly, there is a receipt that was left, probably by whomever purchased the book back in 1927, for some "green paint" that was purchased at the time for .50 cents! I also discovered that (at the time) one could contact the Superintendent of Documents at the Government Printing Office, Washington DC, and purchase additional copies of this 249-page guidebook for 85 cents... I wonder if they're sold out?
What a find for a nature lover, historian, geographer, hiker or enthusiast of the Northwest, Mount Rainier region!
I would like this to go to someone who will enjoy and appreciate this piece of history and nature - the way it was before... so, I will accept any offer (minimum $1.00 & I'll let you pay the postage), if you want the book for what it is and will find joy in reading it and viewing all the wonderful photography in this tome.
