Rare Signed rose bowl in Celadon green by famed Hans Achtziger who was a dominant forc iMid-Century Germany while with the Hutschenreuther Art Department. Made between 1955-1968, but highly likely between late 50s early 60s. He pushed the company away from its traditional floral patterns during this time and more toward toward minimalist organic shapes like this orb. This op-art orb vessel is approximately 4.5 x 4.5 inches and features 7 perforated holes of varied sizes to accomodate floral bunches and single stems as a flower frog might. It was a deliberate design to allow for unstructured floral arrangements that was a major trend during the 50s and 60s right along with the ikebana movement in America . This is the epitome of mid century modern design and and a high end rare designer piece from the department considering its signed and a rare color.
