Vintage mid-century gold-tone powder compact featuring a petit point / needlework floral basket design set into the lid.
The compact is marked MADE IN U.S.A. on the interior mirror frame. Based on the construction and style, it appears to date to approximately the 1940s-1950s.
The decorative top features a hand-worked floral basket motif in cream, red, blue, green, yellow, and brown thread on a dark ground. The reverse has a concentric circular design.
Interior includes the original mirror and the original fabric powder sifter/puff assembly. These components have been left intact. Only loose powder residue around the metal rim and mirror was gently removed with a dry cloth.

Condition: Good vintage pre-owned condition with visible age- and use-related wear. Gold-tone metal shows patina, surface wear, discoloration, and small marks consistent with age. Textile top remains attractive and intact with age-related wear. Mirror is present. Original interior fabric powder sifter/puff assembly remains in place and shows powder residue and age-related wear.
