Vintage 1940s 50s Felt Novelty Co Chenille Varsity Letter E Tiger Patch LA For Sale

This is a genuine vintage varsity/letterman chenille "E" patch, and the maker label makes it more interesting.

The reverse label reads "Felt Novelty Co. – Los Angeles, California." I found period advertising showing Felt Novelty Co. at 1221 Wall St., Los Angeles, producing letters and emblems in 1940–42. Based on the construction, heavy chenille, felt backing and label, I'd date yours approximately 1940s–1950s. The small circular embroidered insert appears to be a tiger/wildcat-type school mascot.
