Here is some true Americana.
These TV trays date back to when televisions were a new thing and “frozen dinners” were called “TV dinners”.
To go along with your new TV you had to have some snazzy TV trays so in the 1950s if you purchased a Motorola TV you got this set of trays.
This is the complete set of four trays featuring the poetry and artwork of Vernon McKissack:
Clap your hands and lift your feet
And dance around to that solid beat
This real gone jive that lets you laugh
Sounds groovy too, on a phonograph.
This master piece will have to wait
Maybe until it's quite too late
Cause who can deny that vibrant melody
Coming through the window with such fidelity.
Lost in a world of fairy queens
And magic bunnys and fairyland scenes
She must have music sweet and gay
To help her in her daily play.
Swishin' skirts and dungarces
Guitar and fiddle, if ya please
When the swingy music hits your toes
Grab a partner and do-ce-do.
All four trays are in good condition with some wear along the edges as seen in the photos.
