RARE SCULPTURAL MID-CENTURY MODERN POLISH ART POTTERY — 1960s WŁOCŁAWEK
Striking vintage 1960s Włocławek double candle holder, attributed to renowned Polish ceramic designer Wit Płażewski, featuring an exceptional Space Age-inspired sculptural form and bold hand-painted geometric decoration.
This remarkable piece of Polish mid-century modern design features two dramatically offset candle holders connected by a sweeping, fluid architectural silhouette with a large open center. Rich cobalt blue, deep black, and soft lavender geometric patterns contrast beautifully against the warm ivory-white glaze.
The unusual futuristic form reflects the innovative artistic direction of Polish ceramics during the 1960s. More than a functional candle holder, this is a distinctive piece of collectible European modernist ceramic sculpture.
