Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful, 100% authentic Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Perpetual Motion Clock (Caliber 528-6). This stunning piece of Swiss luxury dates precisely to 1966, featuring the official factory-stamped Serial Number: 214509.
This clock was originally presented as a prestigious 25-Year Service Award on May 5, 1966, by the IBM Quarter Century Club to employee Paul E. McGavin. The custom-engraved brass presentation plate is beautifully preserved on the front base. Because it stems from IBM’s historic mid-century computing era, this is a phenomenal crossover piece for both fine clock collectors and vintage technology/Americana enthusiasts.
Mechanical Condition:
* Excellent / Perfectly Working: The clock is running beautifully. The lower torsion pendulum disc oscillates flawlessly, twisting completely to the left and smoothly reversing to the right in a steady, hypnotic motion.
* It is keeping great time.
* The internal gears are clean, and the upper suspension wire is completely intact and straight.
Cosmetic Condition:
* The brass and gold-plated frame is in beautiful vintage condition. It shows light, honest age-appropriate patina and minor surface tarnishing on the base, giving it a wonderful mid-century character.
* There are some minor, light scratches on the very top metal frame of the removable cover case from normal handling over the years (not on the glass panels themselves).
* All glass panels are clear with no chips or cracks. The front glass door panel removes cleanly.
* The underside includes the original three-point leveling feet and thumbscrews, all functioning perfectly.
📦 CRITICAL PACKING & SHIPPING NOTE:
