Vintage Bjørn Wiinblad collectible plate art piece. This Autumn plate is one of a series. It is in mint condition. Approximately 10.6” in diameter.
This piece is the "Autumn" (Efterår) edition from the popular "The Four Seasons" (De fire Årstider) series designed by the highly celebrated Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad. It features his signature whimsical, highly detailed, monochrome line-art style depicting a couple gathering fruit from a tree. These plates were produced primarily by the Danish ceramic company Nymølle and sometimes licensed to Rosenthal Studio-Line in Germany.
• Artwork: The center illustrates a romantic couple in an orchard, with a man perched in a tree tossing fruit down to a seated woman.
• Aesthetic: It uses Wiinblad's signature intricate black-ink line work, dense floral and fruit motifs, and wide patterned borders filled with whimsical details.
• Material & Purpose: Crafted from glazed earthenware, these plates were manufactured with holes or loops built into the reverse side so they could easily be hung as wall decor. They typically measure around 27 cm (10.6 inches) in diameter.
