Vintage Chas. Parker No. 953-1/2 Bench Vise Good Condition: $300.00
I have here an old Chas. Parker No. 953-1/2 Bench Vise which has a 3-1/2” wide jaw and weighs approximately 35 lbs. The vise is about 15-1/2” from end to end when fully closed. Chas. Parker Co. is well known for there strong but precise bench vises and they are becoming rarer as the years pass and more get tossed on scrap. Vises, just like anything else, aren’t built as good as they used to be. This vise has the usual dings and dents of a workshop tool this old but it’s in remarkably good shape for its age. No cracks or breaks and minimal slop/backlash. I received the vise very dirty so it has been stripped, cleaned and oiled. The vise has been shelved in a dehumidified room so it will need to be greased and oiled before it’s put back into use. This vise would be great to have on any workbench and would provide another 50+ years of service as well as being an awesome conversation piece.
