A striking pair of vintage Chinese Tang-style sancai glazed pottery court-lady figurines, each measuring approximately 10.25 inches tall.
The two seated figures are modeled in traditional Tang-inspired court dress with elaborate high coiffed hairstyles, serene facial expressions and graceful raised hands. Their flowing robes are finished in a beautiful sancai-style palette of green, amber/brown and pale blue-white, while the softly finished faces and dark hair provide an attractive contrast to the glossy glazed garments.
The pair has wonderful decorative presence and displays beautifully together on a bookshelf, console, mantel or among a collection of Asian decorative arts.

CONDITION
Very good vintage condition with attractive overall presentation.
No chips, major cracks or repairs have been observed, including to the delicate hands and fingers.
Light glaze crazing and other minor age-related surface characteristics are present, consistent with vintage glazed pottery.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
PROVENANCE
These figurines have been in my family for more than 60 years. They belonged to my grandmother in Montgomery, Alabama, and were later preserved in my mother’s collection.
Their long family history, distinctive sancai-style glazing and graceful Tang-inspired forms make them a particularly charming decorative pair.

Each figurine will be individually wrapped and carefully cushioned, with particular attention given to the delicate hands, before being securely packed for shipment.
