Lot075Title: Vintage Handcrafted German Wooden Soldier Nutcracker with Sword & Storage Box – 13\" Tall
Product Overview:
Up for sale is a beautiful vintage German wooden soldier nutcracker, handcrafted in the traditional folk-art style of the Erzgebirge mountain region. This piece showcases classic European turned-wood craftsmanship, featuring a hand-painted red guard uniform, blue trousers, black boots, a pickelhaube-style helmet, and a yellow painted sword. It stands approximately 13 inches tall on a solid green base and includes its vintage patterned storage box.
While the bottom of the base contains no paper label or ink stamp, the distinct construction, facial features, and overall aesthetic confirm its vintage German origin. It makes a fantastic addition to any holiday display or vintage nutcracker collection.Detailed ConditionPlease review the photos carefully. This item is being sold in vintage, pre-owned condition with the following specific flaws and details noted:
• Joint Repair / Glue Residue: There is visible clear/amber vintage glue residue at the right shoulder joint where the arm meets the torso (see close-up photo). The arm is attached securely, but the glue is visible.
• Paint & Cosmetic Wear: Minor paint scuffs, flea bites, and light surface wear are present throughout the figure, consistent with age and storage.
• Underside of Base: The bottom of the green base shows standard shelf wear and minor paint flecks. There are no maker marks or stamps present.
• Storage Box: Includes the geometric patterned cardboard box. The box shows vintage shelf wear, light staining/discoloration on the bottom, and minor edge fraying, but it remains structurally sound to hold the item.
• Functionality: The rear jaw lever mechanism is fully intact and moves freely.
