Substantial traditional German-style beer stein featuring richly molded tavern and beer-cellar scenes in relief around the body, finished in deep brown with contrasting cream-gray details. The wraparound design depicts drinkers, barrels and rustic architectural elements along with the humorous German saying “Wer viel Bier trinkt, schläft gut, wer gut schläft sündigt nicht, und wer nicht sündigt, kommt in den Himmel,” roughly translating to “He who drinks a lot of beer sleeps well; he who sleeps well does not sin; and he who does not sin goes to Heaven.” The stein is finished with a hinged metal lid and thumb lift. It stands approximately 6” tall to the top of the ceramic body/lid area and is quite substantial at approximately 2 lb. 1 oz. A great display piece for a beer stein collection, home bar, pub or German-themed décor.

Pre-owned vintage condition with age-related wear visible throughout. The ceramic body appears free of obvious major cracks or repairs in the photos. There is visible wear and variation to the glaze and raised decoration, including a small area of glaze/finish loss along the lower decorative border as photographed.
