Vintage Hand Painted Porcelain Covered Box Teal Butterfly Floral MoriageBeautiful vintage hand-decorated porcelain covered trinket or vanity box featuring an unusual deep teal/turquoise ground with large stylized flowers, butterflies/moths and foliage in shades of burnt orange, blue, purple, green and burgundy.
The design features extensive gold gilt outlining and raised enamel/moriage-style detailing, giving the flowers and insects wonderful dimension. The decoration continues around all sides of the box, and the fitted removable lid features a dramatic large floral motif.
The interior is finished in a creamy white glaze. The underside bears a small red hand-applied/stamped marking that appears to read “A3-022
