Markings & History:While Metzler & Ortloff originally designed and manufactured this model, the East German government fully nationalized the company. In 1972, the factory was renamed to VEB Kunstporzellan Ilmenau. The specific stamp layout with the crossed hammers on this figurine was only used between 1972 and 1976 right before the historical factory permanently closed down.
