Striking vintage New York City postcard showing a bustling view looking up Broadway from the Times Building in Times Square.
This highly detailed street scene captures an extraordinary amount of period New York atmosphere, including large crowds of pedestrians, numerous early automobiles and buses, streetcar tracks, storefronts, rooftop and building advertisements, Loew’s State Theatre signage, Hotel Claridge, Pepsodent advertising, and the dense architecture of old Manhattan.
The front is captioned “Looking Up Broadway From the Times Building, New York.” The reverse is unused and identifies the publisher as The Process Photo Studios, Chicago, Ill.
A wonderful piece of early New York City history with exceptional street-level detail. I have included a close-up photograph of the center of the card so buyers can better examine the vehicles, crowds, streetcar tracks, and other details visible in this remarkable scene.
Please review all photographs carefully for condition, including the edges and corners. The photographs are part of the description.
