Up for sale is a beautiful, remarkably well-preserved vintage double-leather straight razor strop manufactured by the renowned Pike Manufacturing Co. in Pike, New Hampshire. This historic piece dates to the early 20th century (pre-1932 Norton acquisition) and is a premium example of American barbershop craftsmanship.
Unlike cheaper variants that utilize a canvas layer, this is a premium Twin Leather Combination Strop. It features two thick, solid leather straps secured in a single ornate brass compression cap.
• The \"Sharpen\" Strap: A thick, dark leather split designed to create slight frictional draw to clean, warm, and realign the microscopic edge of the razor blade. It is crisply stamped \"MADE IN U.S.A.\" on the reverse.
• The \"Finish\" Strap: Crafted from premium Genuine Horse Shell (Cordovan) leather. It features a beautiful reddish-brown hue and remains incredibly smooth and supple (\"like a baby\'s behind\"), providing the ultimate micro-polish right before a shave.
• Hardware: Gorgeous, heavy Victorian-style embossed brass end-caps featuring scrolling leaf details. Features the original swivel eye, clip hook, and tension cord.
Condition Details:
This strop has survived in fantastic structural condition. The gold leaf lettering and the round Pike Manufacturing Co. emblem are highly legible and crisp. Crucially, the leather has NOT suffered from dry rot, heavy cracking, or modern oil contamination. It remains naturally soft, supple, and completely usable or ready for display.

Excellent vintage condition. The leather on both straps is remarkably soft, supple, and intact. Clear, crisp gold leaf lettering (\"Finish\", \"Sharpen\", \"Genuine Horse Shell\", and \"Pike Manufacturing Co.\"). The embossed decorative brass hardware has a beautiful natural patina. Only minor surface scuffs on the leather from age; no deep nicks, dry rot, or cuts. Original hanging hardware and cord intact.
