Fantastic vintage French estate pipe from Royal Coachman, a historic brand crafted by Chapuis-Comoy (the legendary makers of Comoy's pipes). This piece features a wonderful tactile texture and showcases excellent mid-century European craftsmanship.
Key Features & Markings:
• Brand/Line: Stamped "Royal Coachman" on the shank.
• Origin Stamp: Stamped "Made in France".
• Shape Number: Stamped "110" — a traditional, beautifully proportioned straight Billiard featuring a cylindrical bowl and round shank.
• Finish: Heavy, detailed rugged rusticated finish. The dark craggy texturing provides an excellent grip and helps the pipe dissipate heat beautifully while smoking.
• Stem: Classic black vulcanite tapered stem designed for a comfortable, lightweight clench.
Condition Report:
This pipe is in great pre-owned estate condition. The rusticated briar stummel is structurally sound with no cracks. The stamping is legible on the smooth underside of the shank.
