Vintage VIVA Vietnam War POW MIA Bracelet LT COL Robert Brinckmann 11-4-66 Cuff: $75.00
Available is this authentic, original 1970s VIVA Vietnam War POW / MIA remembrance cuff bracelet with its Original Maker\'s Mark. This historical piece honors USAF Lt. Col. Robert Brinckmann, who went missing on November 4, 1966. The bracelet is made of traditional nickel silver and exhibits a beautiful, authentic vintage patina. The stamped lettering and date remain crisp, clear and perfectly legible. It remains structurally solid with excellent flexibility for display or wear. The cuff has an interior maker\'s mark stamp which reads, \"VIVA TM\", which directly confirms that this is an original, officially distributed piece from the 1970s student-led organization Voices in Vital America. This crucial authenticator ensures it is not a \"fantasy\" reproduction. Born in Newark, NJ, Robert Edwin Brinckmann served as a pilot with the 34th Tactical Fighter Squadron out of Korat Airbase, Thailand. On November 4, 1966, he was piloting an F-105F Thunderchief on a highly dangerous anti-radar mission over North Vietnam. His aircraft was struck by anti-aircraft artillery approximately 60 miles northeast of Hanoi. Due to heavy enemy presence, immediate recovery was impossible and he was listed as Missing in Action (MIA). A highly decorated pilot, he earned the Silver Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross with Two Oak Leaf Clusters. In 1989, his remains were repatriated and identified. He was posthumously promoted to Colonel and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
