The front features a blue and gold U.S. Army Air Corps / Army Air Forces aviation emblem with the traditional winged propeller design. The case has an attractive geometric Art Deco pattern across the exterior.
The top incorporates the Evans automatic lighter mechanism. The lighter produces a strong spark, as shown in the photographs. It has not been filled with fuel or flame-tested.
Opening the case reveals the original cigarette compartment and spring-loaded retaining bar. The retaining bar remains tight and strong and holds properly. This case was designed for the shorter approximately 70 mm unfiltered cigarettes of the period; modern filtered cigarettes are generally too long for the compartment.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with expected age-related surface wear, light scratches, oxidation, and handling marks.
The case opens and closes properly. The cigarette retaining mechanism remains tight. The lighter mechanism operates and produces a strong spark but has not been fueled or flame-tested.
The blue enamel and gold-tone aviation emblem remain particularly attractive and well preserved.
