A lovely piece of Waterford holiday history: the 1988 Five Golden Rings bell, the fifth release in Waterford's 12 Days of Christmas annual bell series. Waterford issued one bell each Christmas season, so this one was only available for 1988.
The bell is hand-cut Irish lead crystal in Waterford's classic diamond and wedge pattern, finished with a faceted crystal knob handle. The front has a frosted acid-etched design of five interlocking golden rings framed by holly leaves and berries, with the year 1988 etched below. It's signed with the Waterford acid-etched mark. Inside, a crystal clapper hangs on a fine chain, and it rings with that clear, bright crystal tone. It looks beautiful on a mantel or with the rest of a collection.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or cloudiness. It comes in its original red textured Waterford Crystal box with the "Product of the Republic of Ireland" label still attached. The box shows light age wear, mainly minor scuffing at the corners. Please see the photos, which are part of the description.
A great addition if you're building out the full 12 Days set, and a meaningful pick for anyone collecting Waterford Christmas bells, Irish crystal, or 1980s holiday décor. It also makes a fitting gift for a fifth anniversary.
