Vtg 1900s Helmbolds Chemical Co Catawba Grape Juice Pill Bottle W/ Paper Wrapper For Sale

Never opened or used, this is a bottle of QUACK medical pills with a paper wrapper that I believe is from circa 1900\'s. The medicine is from Helmbold\'s Chemical Warehouse, Druggist and Chemist, 594 Broadway, New York, NY and 104 S 10th Street, Philadelphia, PA. The actual product is Helmbold\'s Compound Fluid Extract Catawba Grape Juice Pills --which turns out to be used to achieve a \"brisk purge\". There are instructions for adults and for children and how to convince a child to take this medicine-just say it is a sugar plum! The front of the wrapper has the name of the medicine and other information, while the back has the famous illustration of the front of the NY building housing the Chemist. The item measures approx 3\" x 1 3/8\" x 1 1/8\" and the what I believe to be the glass pill holder can\'t be seen because the paper wrapper covers the entire holder. Squeezing the item and it is solid hard so I do not believe it is cardboard. Further on there are a few Helmbold bottles for sale, so the company appears to have made its product in bottles. Helmbold started in business in 1880 and there is a statement on the package that the company has 20 years experience, so my guess is that this is from circa 1900. See my last photo that is an interior photo of the building illustrated on the package label. The paper is slightly brown (it may have been that color when first sold) and is in outstanding condition. From a pet free and smoke free home-the item has no odor. Looking at other sellers, tall bottles with a paper label showing the Helmbold building are asking in the $300 range. Only one like this on .
