Featured is a wonderfully unique, authentic piece of vintage American studio folk art: a 3D Full-Figure Candle Holder / Incense Burner crafted by the renowned "Our Gang" Pottery studio.
Dating back to the late 1970s / early 1980s, this whimsical stoneware sculpture features a highly detailed, eccentric character reminiscent of a vintage hippie, wizard, or mythical figure. The character is beautifully finished in a multi-tonal, glossy drip glaze showcasing rich earth tones, blues, and teals that contrast beautifully with the raw, textured clay accents. The figure stands securely within a built-in catchment tray base, making it perfect for holding a candle or burning incense.
Authenticity & Markings:
• Hand-signed "Our Gang" hand-scribed directly into the unglazed stoneware base.
• Includes the handwritten artist initials "pc".
Dimensions & Details:
• Item Type: Full-body figural sculpture with tray base
• Material: Stoneware studio pottery
• Era: Vintage (circa late 1970s / 1980s)
Condition Report:
This piece is in good vintage condition with bright glazes and strong structural integrity. It has been well-loved and features one minor, shallow chip on the far-left finger of the character's hand (please see the final close-up photo for an exact view). The chip blends relatively well with the natural, unglazed texture of the hands and does not detract from the overall aesthetic display or functionality of this rare collectible.
