Up for sale is a fantastic piece of Southwestern history: a Vintage Fred Harvey Era Hammered Copper Thunderbird Trinket Tray.
Sourced directly from a local estate sale, this small rectangular dish measures 3 ½ inches tall by 4 ½ inches wide with a subtle, slight lip averaging an ⅛-inch depth along the outer rim. It is crafted from a thick, heavy-gauge solid copper that gives it an impressive weight for its size.
The center features a beautifully detailed, raised silver-toned white metal thunderbird emblem overlay with traditional geometric hand-stamped detailing across the wings and body. The copper base features classic hand-hammered texturing that catches the light beautifully, highlighted by a rich, uncleaned vintage patina.
The reverse side of the tray is completely unmarked / unbranded, which is very common for tourist-era roadside souvenirs produced in the American Southwest between the 1930s and 1950s.
This serves as a perfect desktop catchall, coin dish, pin tray, or display piece for any collector of mid-century Western and Native American tourist memorabilia.
Please review the photos closely to judge the condition and aged patina for yourself. Item ships promptly and securely packaged.
