Vintage/Antique NORITAKE M MORIAGE GOLD Teacup & Saucer HAND PAINTED BLUEBIRDS c1922
Size: Cup is 1 7/8\" high x 3.5\" across, base 1.75\"
Saucer is 5 5/8\" across and has indent in center for cup
Features wafer-thin fine white glossy porcelain with marvelous hand painted detailing. There are numerous raised moriage-gold gilded flowers and stems, plus a gold gilded border rim and line down the handle.
Perhaps the most stunning feature of this set are the HAND PAINTED BLUEBIRDS gracefully in flight around the cup and the saucer. The cup features one bird in flight and two birds sitting on the moriage-beaded flower stems. Absolutely charming and so very unusual.
This pattern is known as number 16665 and is extremely difficult [if not impossible] to locate in the teacup and saucer
On the underside of the cup is the Noritake name and the letter M in green, in a wreath. This is for MORIMURA, and was a mark used in the very early 1920s. What is also unusual about this cup is that besides the \'Made In Japan\' and pattern number, are a series of JAPANESE CHARACTER LETTERS.
Quality is \'the best of the best\'- superb
This is an heirloom collectible cup set.
Excellent condition- flawless- displayed only and never used- pristine. No nicks chips cracks scratches crazing fading wear or damage/repair to either piece. No fading or dullness to gold.

Please note the following, dear fellow shopping enthusiasts:
I strive to give you the best service possible. I am not a dealer or professional, just a lifelong collector and enthusiast. I only list items that I think are unique and of good quality. I represent my items as accurately and clearly as I can, and believe it is always better for you to have too much information than not enough! Please ask any questions before offerding, I will happily respond.
Remember, these are vintage items and will have reasonable signs of age and wear which only adds to their personality, appeal and \"funky vintage-ness\". They are not in their original boxes unless noted. I do not excessively clean items or remove age patina, as I want to leave that option for the buyer.
I will promptly ship your item within1 business day and post great positive response for you once payment is received.
Go Green! I try to re-use clean, almost-new shipping boxes when possible.
I will gladly combine shipping on multiple items for you.
