Rare Original WWII Diaries of a Jewish Soldier from Palestine in the British Army (H.M. Forces).

An extraordinary, one-of-a-kind (OOAK) primary historical source. This lot includes 3 personal, handwritten notebooks kept by a Jewish volunteer from Eretz Israel (Mandatory Palestine) serving in the British Army during World War II.

Historical Content & Key Discoveries:

• Military Units: The author explicitly details his service in the R.A.O.C. (Royal Army Ordnance Corps) and the A.M.P.C. (Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps).

• Active Duty & Locations: The diaries document his military training at the British base in Sarafand. Crucially, he writes about being deployed to the Egypt Front ("חזית מצרים") and mentions encountering the American Air Force.

• Post-War/Relief Efforts: The text contains multiple references to U.N.R.R.A. (United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration), pointing to late-war or immediate post-war service.

• Philosophy & Era Politics: Alongside Hebrew daily logs, the soldier wrote several fascinating passages in English. He reflects on the "end of British world-ascendency", questions "Is the world going left?" (referencing The Road to Serfdom), and mentions reading the Palestine Post and PARADE military magazine.

• Pasted Ephemera: One notebook features pasted period newspaper clippings advertising special rates for H.M. Forces at local hotels in Haifa, Jerusalem, and Gedera[cite: 51, 69].

This is an invaluable document of the Yishuv's contribution to the Allied war effort against Nazi Germany.
