Originality: Original WWII steel/wood body (Repainted)
Condition: Excellent structural condition. The steel blade has no heavy pitting or rust compromises. The original wooden handle is completely solid with no cracks, dry rot, or splits.
Mechanics: The locking turn-collar operates perfectly. It tightens down securely and locks the blade firmly into both the straight-digging and 90-degree pick/hoe positions without skipping threads.
Finish: The shovel was repainted in olive drab at some point in its post-war history. The paint job was well executed, protecting the vintage steel cleanly.
Please Note: This listing is for the standalone folding shovel only. It does not include a canvas cover/carrier.
