This life-size walrus skull stands approximately 18 inches high, with a pair of 12-inch tusks hanging from a cranium broad enough to fill both hands. NOT A SUBTLE DISPLAY PIECE
There is no graceful way to fit a walrus skull into a room.
The cranium is huge, the front of the skull is almost completely dominated by the tusk sockets and the finished tusks hang a full 12 inches below it.
Put it on a shelf and it takes over the shelf. Put it in a cabinet and it becomes the reason people walk over to the cabinet. It is strange, instantly recognisable and far more imposing in person than the measurements suggest.
OUR NEW SOCKET-FITTED TUSK DESIGN
We redesigned this version so the tusks fit into proper sockets within the skull.
They are not simply printed as part of one bulky shape. Each tusk is separate, which gives the front of the skull a much cleaner structure and makes the finished display look more convincing.
The tusks are packed separately and fitted at home. This protects them during shipping and prevents the parcel from becoming unnecessarily enormous.

The photographs showing the skull being held provide the clearest sense of scale. This is one of our largest marine mammal pieces and requires a proper display space.
THE TUSKS ARE THE WHOLE POINT
A walrus skull without convincing tusks never looks quite right.
Ours extend a full 12 inches from the skull, with the long downward curve that gives the species its unmistakable silhouette.
We keep the tusks pale against the warmer skull tone so they stand out clearly, just as they do in the photographs.
WHY THE JAW IS FIXED
The jaw is permanently fixed to create a stronger, more stable display.
With tusks this long, the skull needs to remain balanced and easy to position. The fixed jaw keeps the entire structure together and prevents the display from shifting whenever it is moved.
BUILT FOR SCALE, NOT FRAGILITY
A skull this size should not feel like a brittle ornament.
We use strong FDM construction so the cranium remains practical to lift, position and transport. The tusks are also removable during shipping, protecting the most exposed parts of the display.
The finished piece has serious presence without the extreme weight of a solid cast.

We print the skull, clean it, finish it, inspect it and pack it ourselves. Nothing is passed to a print farm and nothing arrives at our workshop already finished.
