This is a vintage divided back postcard, postally used and postmarked 1915 from Mason City, Iowa. The postcard features a waterfront scene from Old Camp Clear Lake in Clear Lake Iowa, identifying attractions on the waterfront. Pictured and labeled is the Oaks Hotel (North Shore) which was a prominent multi-story resort hotel that hosted lakeside travelers and vacationers. Also pictured is a large Wooden Water Slide, a massive \"toboggan\" style wooden slide framework, commonly referred to at the time as a \"shoot-the-chutes,\" where swimmers would slide down directly into the lake water. A bath house and auto garage are also shown. The foreground showcases several people wading out in the water alongside two large rigged sailboats near the docks, illustrating typical summer leisure activities on the lake.
