📖 Historical Significance (Story Buyers Love)

Produced at the height of WWII, these plates were part of a fundraising partnership between Wedgwood and the British War Relief Society. Americans purchased these plates to support Britain as London was being bombed.

The brown transferware scenes show London as it stood before the destruction of the war, making the series both a historical document and a symbol of Anglo-American solidarity.

Collectors especially value:

• The wartime glaze, which naturally shows age-appropriate crazing

• The First Edition 1941 printed mark

• The association with the British War Relief Society

• The inclusion of multiple architectural landmarks

This series is prized by Wedgwood collectors, London history collectors, WWII enthusiasts, and museum buyers.
