Circa 1910 S67 Indian Chiefs / Native American Tobacco Silk Collection – 18 Pieces – Framed
Offered is an impressive antique collection of 18 tobacco premium silks, displayed together in an approximately 22” x 15” wood frame.
The collection includes numerous circa-1910 S67 Indian Chiefs silks associated with Tokio Cigarettes / American Tobacco Company, with many marked “Factory No. 649, First Dist., N.Y.” The S67 Indian Chiefs series used artwork based on the earlier Allen & Ginter N2 American Indian Chiefs series.
The collection includes both Tokio Cigarettes branded and numbers-only variations, including two different Red Cloud #11 examples — one with the Tokio Cigarettes branding and one without.
Visible subjects include:
Red Cloud #11 (2 different variations), Chief Gall #4, Black Hawk #5, Keokuk’s Son #21, Big Razor #22, Red Shirt #27, Crow’s Breast #28, Deer Ham #29, Big Bear #38, Many Horns #40, Hairy Bear #43, Cayatanita #8, British #1, along with additional Native American scene silks including Zira Cigarettes examples depicting subjects such as a Zuni squaw weaving a basket, Dakota Indian painting a chronology, Cheyenne Braves dancing, and another large portrait silk.

Condition varies throughout due to age. Silks exhibit expected antique wear including wrinkles/creases, discoloration, staining, edge fraying and other age-related wear. The frame and backing also show considerable age and wear, including staining/deterioration to the rear paper backing. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
The silks have not been removed from the frame, and their exact method of attachment to the backing has not been determined. They are being offered exactly as found and shown.
An unusual surviving display of early American tobacco advertising premiums, approximately 115 years old, with excellent crossover appeal to collectors of tobacco cards and silks, tobacciana, Native American imagery and antique advertising.
Frame measures approximately 22” wide x 15” high.
