Purchased @ 2000 in a small shop just outside the Budapest area- please see original attached tag. The two bands of woven linen and embroidery on the ends are so interesting- my plan was to convert this long runner into two small pillows. Now downsizing and hope someone else will see the potential. Beautiful handiwork! Vintage preowned- used in a home in Hungary. I believe I was told it was made in the 1930\'s- not sure. The body of the linen is warm white with yellow, red and slate blue horizontal stripes of varying widths woven to create the pattern. This runner is very tightly woven. The bands of pattern (7.25\" x 13\") are then embellished with embroidery stitches using multicolored thread. The floral and small geometric shapes are quite lovely. The embroidery stitch is a long running stitch that\'s remarkable even!! The fringe is braided. 13\"W x 61\"L (excluding 4\" fringe) The runner is in the condition I bought it. I have no idea if the spots will come out. SEE PICS- last pic shows the wrong side and the tidiness of the embroidery
