I own an advertising specialty company - now in our 46th year I am happy to report - and I worked in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm. For a long time my best client was what was formerly known as "The Bell System". Of course after divestiture it was broken up into what was generally called the "Baby Bells" - and later morphed into many variations.So over the years we worked very closely with Western Electric, AT&T, Southern Bell, Bellsouth, Bell South International, Lucent Technologies, OFS, Avaya, etc. I collected many over-run samples, one-of-a-kind spec samples, and the likes.I am now selling much of that collection via . Here is an unusual collection of 6 different AT&T logoed gifts from the 1980's and 1990's. All but one item is an over-run from an order that we sold to AT&T back then. The different item is a special factory sample with imprinted pricing on the bottle.
Details:A, Barrel bag, size 18" x 9" x 9" in navy blue with the AT&T Network Systems logo and tag line..."The future...Making it Happen" in white. In nylon material with white webbed reinforcement and handles. Brass findings. It was manufactured by our supplier Fabriko and made in the U.S.A.!!!
B. World famous Parker Pen Company was located in Janesville, WI. As I recall the story, a gentleman named Robert Ozburn was an executive with Parker, but left to found his own company, Ozburn - Janesville - "Ozburn" from his name, and "Janesville" from where they were located. They manufactured high-end specialty advertising items, including this pointer. Due to Mr. Ozburn's affiliation with Parker and that he manufactured better merchandise, Parker allowed him to use their famous "Parker Arrow" clip. The pointer is 5" long and extends to 25". In matte black brass with brass findings and gold AT&T Network Systems logo. Made in Janesville and gift boxed.
C. One of my customers at the AT&T Atlanta Works facility was an avid fisherman. For one of his department team building exercises, he took the group fishing. He had us supply a special lure box that he stocked with several of his favorite lures for the event. Due to the limited participation, only a very few of these were made - I believe about a dozen - plus my over-run sample. It is pretty safe to say that you will never see another of these, especially in NEW condition! The size is 6" x 3.625" with 8 compartments. Also made in the U.S.A.
D. Lapel pin - This is a very nice and distinctive lapel pin. The size is .75" with butterfly attachment. This pin is unusual as it incorporates two different imprinting methods - cloisonné and laser. The laser imprint was necessary due to the "Globe" part of the logo. It is gift boxed, and also made in the U.S.A.
E. Sports bottle - This is the sample that is not an over-run from one of our AT&T orders. Rather, a supplier produced these for us to send and give to our AT&T customers in the hope of securing an order...and we did sell several. The bottle is frost white with the blue AT&T The right choice logo. There is a section where the recipient can write his / her name. Also U.S.A. made!
F. Plastic bag - Size 10" x 12" x 4" gusset. Double wall construction with snap closure top handle. Same AT&T logo on both sides. U.S.A. made as well!Incidentally - this supplier would include the distributor name and address in the gusset - as you can see from one of my photos. In the early days of our company, we lived on Shady Drive in Lilburn, GA. On one Western Electric plastic bag order the factory made a mistake in our address. It said "Shoddy Drive"! We joked with the factory that we were lucky it was not spelled even worse...if you know what I mean...
