Up for sale is a rare, premium antique Western Americana stereoview card from "The Johnson Co's Stereoscopic Views" series out of Salt Lake City, Utah.
This highly sought-after card is numbered 720 K and titled "Utah Salt Palace—Night." It features a spectacular, scarce nighttime photograph capturing the original 1899 Salt Palace exhibition hall entirely illuminated by thousands of early electric incandescent light bulbs.
Built as a grand exhibition space coated completely in real rock salt crystals, this magnificent architectural marvel was completely destroyed by a catastrophic fire on August 29, 1910, and was never rebuilt. Because nighttime illumination cards from this era are incredibly difficult to find, this is a premium, centerpiece addition for serious collectors of Utah territory history, early electricity/astrophotography-era tech, and Western Americana.

The card is in good antique condition. The photographic print remains bright with fantastic contrast, highlighting the glowing electrical lights against the dark night sky. Please note: There is a visible diagonal surface scratch on the image running down the center-left side from below the dome through the window area (see close-up photos). The cardstock mount is structurally sound with clean borders, displaying only minor, expected edge wear and natural age curvature. The back is clean with the iconic Johnson Co. globe logo fully legible.
These do not come up often!
