A sculptural stibnite specimen with associated dolomite from Qinglong Mine, Guizhou, China.
Strongly striated metallic blades intergrow in an upright formation, with broad crossing crystals adding character across the upper section. Open spaces between the blades reveal the layered structure, giving the specimen depth and detail from different viewpoints.
Silver-grey reflections contrast with darker steel-coloured faces, while pale dolomite provides accents between the crystals. The combination of angular blades, overlapping growth and metallic lustre makes an attractive display for collectors of Chinese minerals and stibnite.
